FocusFit is engaged in a second software project; in this case a spin-off of our learning needs experimental software project. The purpose in this case is to develop an accessible, easy to use system that will provide an accurate and highly useful interview guide for recruiters, coaches and managers.

In today’s labour markets it is becoming more and more challenging for employers to find workers whose skills are well aligned with job requirements. It can also be challenging for coaches and managers to identify developmental priorities.

Interview Focus will address these challenges. We intend to develop a multi-platform program that stores competencies, skills, questions and indicators and allows users to generate questions specific to each job.

When a user selects a particular job profile, Interview Focus will retrieve the appropriate profile information for that particular position and generate the corresponding interview questions.

We intend to develop technology to deliver on-screen or printed interview guides with relevant behaviour-based questions and behavioural indicators for a given occupation.

Eventually, the system might also be able to extract behavioural anchors and generate questions from job descriptions and other occupation-related data.

If the user wishes, Interview Focus can then provides a printed Interview Guide, complete with skill or competency definitions and descriptions, behaviour-based questions and behavioural indicators.

To accomplish these objectives FocusFit is seeking technological advancement in (a) the adaptation of relational database, web- and local computing technologies and (b) the consistent and reliable extraction of behavioural anchors and automated generation of questions from job descriptions and other occupation-related data.
