FocusFit is engaged in an experimental software project. The purpose: to develop an accessible, easy to use system that will accurately assess an individual’s highest priority learning needs, depending on an individual’s context.
We are building or refining psychometric algorithms so that users can assess gaps between current skills and current job and between current skills and another job, interactively across the Internet or enterprise Intranet.
A potential spin-off benefit of such a system is that it can also provide organizational learning needs at various levels of aggregation, e.g. at the team, departmental, corporate or global level.
We intend this system to be
- quick
- easy to use
- easily accessible
- able to highlight gaps and strengths
- inexpensive, per person/ per use
Eventually we intend that it will be
- dynamically adaptable to changing organizational roles
- able to collect self-, peer-, manager-, and subordinate assessments
- able to aggregate data by work team, department, division, or corporate-wide
- able to aggregate data by job function
It might also eventually be able to extract behavioural anchors from job descriptions and other occupation-related data.
Such a system could also potentially provide developmental suggestions, again for the individual or for various aggregated levels.
There are of course numerous technical challenges in developing such a system.
To create and market such a system FocusFit is seeking development, content and financial partners.
