FocusFit creates a modular communications workshop

Essential Skills training can improve employees’ performance, affect strategic change and achieve a competitive edge. Oral Communication is one of the Essential Skills that virtually all Canadian workers must have to succeed in work, learning and life.

In order to help learners practice and strengthen communication skills FocusFit designed and developed a flexible, modular workshop curriculum. Fully customizable, this workshop uses a variety of instructional materials intended for a wide range of learners. This modular approach allows the various workshop activities to be used as stand-alone materials or combined into half-day, one-day or two-day workshops.

The exercises focus on such topics as: active listening, giving feedback, assertive communication and resolving conflict.

As part of this project FocusFit also developed a comprehensive facilitator manual including workshop outlines, icebreakers, skill-building exercises and facilitation tips and resources.
