FocusFit releases pilot instructional videos

According to TheCanadianImmigrant.com, 60% of today’s Canadian employers say their main concern with hiring skilled immigrants is poor language proficiency and a lack of cultural awareness. As a response to this challenge, FocusFit developed two pilot videos designed to help those new to Canada improve and strengthen communication skills.

FocusFit scripted, directed and produced one video focused on Job Interviews, and another on Workplace Conflict:

  • The 21-minute Job Interview video shows a new Canadian as an interviewee and highlights the tips and strategies for effectively handling a job interview in a Canadian workplace.
  • The 13-minute Workplace Conflict video shows a difficult workplace situation between two co-workers and highlights strategies for effectively resolving the situation.

Hosted by narrator Kayla Ramlochand, each video introduces and debriefs the scenes by posing discussion questions and summarizing key points. Included with these instructional videos is a guide for use in both on-line and facilitator-led sessions.

Through these pilot videos FocusFit seeks to assist immigrants to Canada in learning new skills and successfully integrating into the Canadian workplace.
