Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology (SIAST) – Learning & Performance Management Framework
The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) is a leader in post-secondary education, focused on students and lifelong learning. SIAST works as a catalyst for advancing the social and economic prosperity of Saskatchewan.
SIAST selected FocusFit to assist in the building of a competency-based framework for learning, development, recruiting, succession planning and performance management. Consisting of two phases the project focused on:
1) Development of a competency architecture including competency/skill names, types, descriptions and behavioural anchors that suit a variety of purposes including learning/training needs analysis, recruiting, succession planning and performance management.
2) Development of a database that allows SIAST to add, store, edit and retrieve information related to positions, competencies and behavioural anchors, interview questions and indicators linked to specific competencies and positions. This same database will be used in later phases of the project to assist in learning needs assessment and succession planning.
